This Privacy Policy describes how Gym Tracker (“the App”) handles your information. Gym Tracker is developed by The Backpack Dev (“we”, “us”, or “our”) and is available on the Google Play Store.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App is designed to work entirely offline, and we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.

Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information.

All data you enter into the App — including exercises, routines, workout sessions, and body measurements — is stored locally on your device only. No data is sent to us or any third party.

Data Storage

  • All app data is stored in a local SQLite database on your Android device
  • Data remains entirely on your device and under your control
  • We have no access to your data at any time

Backup and Restore

The App provides an optional backup and restore feature (available to premium users). When you create a backup:

  • The backup file is saved locally to your device storage
  • You choose where to save the file (e.g., local storage, Google Drive, or other cloud services)
  • We do not receive, process, or store any backup files
  • You are solely responsible for managing your backup files

Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data at all times. We do not retain any of your data on our servers — because we have no servers that receive it.

  • Retention: Your data is stored on your device for as long as you keep the App installed. There is no automatic expiration or remote retention period.
  • Deletion options:
    • Delete individual records within the App (exercises, routines, sessions, or measurements) using the App’s built-in editing features
    • Clear all app data via your device’s Settings → Apps → Gym Tracker → Storage → Clear Data
    • Uninstall the App to remove all associated data from your device
  • Backup files you created are stored wherever you saved them and must be deleted manually by you

Since we never receive your data, there is no need to submit a deletion request to us.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Play Billing — Used exclusively for processing in-app purchases (premium upgrade). Google’s privacy policy applies to payment processing. We do not receive or store your payment information.

The App does not use:

  • Analytics or tracking tools
  • Advertising SDKs
  • Crash reporting services that transmit data externally

Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no risk of children’s data being collected.

Permissions

The App may request the following Android permissions:

  • Storage access — Only when you choose to create or restore a backup file

No other permissions are required for the App to function.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
